Jimmy Carter is a native of the state of Georgia. He grew up in a role community called Plains, Georgia.  Jimmy Carter is mainly known as being the 39th president of the United States. Moreover, he is known as a humanitarian, especially as being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for all of the charitable works that he tirelessly labors in for the benefit of others. However, most people do not know that Jimmy Carter has ministered the gospel through being a Sunday school teacher for most of his adult life at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, GA.  Even after fulfilling his term as president, Jimmy Carter faithfully taught Sunday school to his faithful Sunday school class.

The church doors are open at 8:30 AM and 10 AM, and Jimmy Carter’s Sunday school class begins.  Before entering the church, you must pass the US Secret Service screening, including searches and bomb-sniffing dogs.  Then you will receive a fantastic orientation on the presidential protocol and how to behave in the church.  Moreover, after prayer, Jimmy Carter will rise with greetings to the class and comment on current events. Afterward, Jimmy Carter will begin to teach his hour-long lesson from the word of God. Finally, when the Sunday school class is over and everyone is dismissed, you will have an opportunity to take a picture with Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter.  There, of course, is a line in it is a wonderful souvenir to commemorate Jimmy Carter’s Sunday school teaching ministry.

Jimmy Carter is still very proactive in diplomatic missions and humanitarian causes.  Starting in March 1984, Jimmy Carter worked with Habitat for Humanity and Americus, Georgia.  From this initial involvement, Jimmy Carter partnered with this housing project.  Habitat for Humanity builds homes for families that are in desperate need of housing.  It is volunteer work, and Jimmy Carter has championed this cause and helped countless families find safe and affordable housing.
