Ministries in Georgia are glad to present a tribute to Augusta, Georgia’s own James Brown. As you may well know, James Brown is known as the King of Soul, but he got his start singing in Gospel choirs at churches in the Augusta, GA area.  James Brown grew up in poverty and had a rough time growing up in Augusta, GA.  No doubt, this roughness carved his hard work ethic and character to become later the man that he became.  James Brown never forgot his roots in Augusta’s churches, and to this day, there is a memorial statue honoring his legacy.  Ministries in Georgia will not be complete without keeping James Brown’s singing ministry in Gospel Choirs and one of his all-time greatest songs, “His eye is on the sparrow.”
