James Benton of House of Prayer Christian Church Testimony
After his time in the United States Marines, Rev. James Benton of House of Prayer Christian Church came to HOPCC Hinesville, GA. It was while serving as a Marine in 1994 that James Benton of HOPCC Hinesville, GA took his first trip to the country of Haiti during Operation Uphold Democracy; from that time on, that country would have an effect on his life. In 2019, House of Prayer Christian Church organized a missionary trip to the island of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Rev. James Benton, along with his wife Wendy Benton of House of Prayer and their son Nathaniel, amongst others, would go. During this journey, the missionaries would spread the spirit of prayer and charity to all that they would come across. Rev. Benton and the others went into the local churches to pray with them and to strengthen their hands in Christ. Along the way, gifts were given to those that were in need, and the love of God was being displayed. Rev. James Benton and the House of Prayer missionaries to Haiti were living Matthew 10:42 “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” (NIV)
After the return from Haiti, the love did not end for the people there. James Benton of House of Prayer Christian Church has organized donations and humanitarian aid going out to that country and its people continually. In the months and years since contact has remained strong, ministers from the Church in Haiti have had the opportunity to come; to America and fellowship with the Church and be strengthened again by the brethren. James Benton of HOPCC often has the Haitian Church connected on a telephone line for intercontinental Church services and prayer meetings. James Benton is one that gladly left one battlefield for another, leaving the United States Marines only to join the Army of the Lord with House of Prayer Christian Church.
